Under minimal supervision, the Clinic Manager supervises the day-to-day activities of the Aiaola Sexual Health Clinic by providing best practice clinical services, customer service, personnel management, administrative duties, assistance to providers, and ensuring compliance with the scope and standards of practice set by clinical contractual requirements. The position works in conjunction with the Prevention Department and Client Services Department. The Clinic Manager will oversee the clinical operation and provision of sexual health services related to:
● HIV Care & Management
● Gender Affirming Care
● Hepatitis C Care & Treatment
● Prevention, Awareness & Education
● HIV / STI Testing
● STI Treatment
● PEP / PrEP

The clinic manager serves as the team lead for clinic providers and nurses, patient services representatives, clinical coordination, quality and utilization management, and other auxiliary team members.

The clinic manager oversees the medical care of patients including examination, treatment, and referral to appropriate physicians or agencies, and assures adherence to established policies, procedures, and protocols of Kumukahi Health + Wellness (KHW).

The Clinic Manager oversees daily clinic operations including:
-
Monitoring and maintaining the clinic’s patient panel
-
Taking inventory and ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
-
Ensure Aiaola Health Services is following all State and federal healthcare regulations.

Update patient medical records
-

The clinic manager also serves as a functional part of the clinical team by:
-
assessing and evaluating patients of the clinic,
-
administering treatments and medications under standing orders.
-
inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize against communicable diseases (depending on licensure),
-
advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods of prevention of diseases,
-
referring patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment,
-
developing and monitoring clinical care plans,
-
completes medical forms as required by Government Agencies and KHW policy, and
-
maintaining accurate and thorough medical records through chart documentation.

The Clinic Manager supports Aiaola by collaborating in planning and participating with client and family education, educating, and managing paraprofessionals, medical students, and possible nursing students and other healthcare professionals.

The Clinic Manager oversees the 340B program, including the promotion of the program and audit compliance.

The Clinic Manager assists in evaluating and revising clinical guidelines for practice in the clinic and in other practice policies and procedures and ensures clinic staff are informed and trained.

The Clinic Manager also participates in overseeing quality assurance plans/activities, data collection and analysis, and ensures the proper utilization of services as required by health care standards.

The Clinic Manager will also serve as a part of the executive team by attending all staff and professional meetings as required.

Maintains current license, participates in continuing education programs, and maintains current CPR certification.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Develop significant partnerships with external organizations including community health centers, managed care, and state and federal government agencies.

Ensures compliance with DOH, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA, and all other applicable regulations.

Supports staff evaluations, case conferences, and third-party payer privilege requirements as necessary.

Responsible for the supervision of overall clinic administration.

Reports to the Executive Director on the above-mentioned issues.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Education/Training
-
Minimum:
-
Current Hawai'i nursing or clinical license in good standing.
-
Associate’s Degree.
-
-
Preferred:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing (BSN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), or any other Hawaii State clinical licensure (LCSW, LMFT, PhD or PsyD in Psychology) with at least 2 years of experience with clinic operations.

Experience

Minimum:
-
2 years of professional experience working in a medical office or clinical setting with direct patient care responsibilities

Preferred:
-
Experience managing staff and/or overseeing daily clinic operations.
-
1 year of experience working with persons living with HIV and persons seeking PrEP or PEP.
-
1 year of experience performing sexual health assessments and providing STI testing based on the patient's sexual practices.
-
3-5 years of professional nursing experience in an outpatient, hospital/critical care, or home health care setting.
-
Experience with working with electronic medical records; preferably Athena Health.
-
Experience working with multicultural staff and clientele.

Usual hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. (1-hour unpaid lunch). Hours may be flexed to accommodate clinic schedules, and duties may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.
